Darrel was a small 4-week-old kitten when his cries were heard from inside a nearby home. Trial cameras were set up, and food was provided while they monitored to see if any momma showed up. When none showed up, the property owners purchased a squirrel trap and successfully brought Darrel to safety. Catspan Ferals in Nanimo took him into their care and transferred him to us. Darrel gave us quite a scare in the first few days with diarrhea and resulting weight loss. Once his body adjusted to proper, healthy kitten food, he began to gain weight.
Darrel was kept in quarantine for two weeks to ensure there were no further health issues, and then was introduced to foster kittens of a similar age so he could be part of a social and playful litter. Darrel has grown into a majestic, big black house panther, full of confidence.
